Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you’ll need to:

  • Exercising, grooming and feeding hospitalised animals (inpatients)
  • Weighing, taking animals temperatures 
  • Monitoring and providing supportive care to inpatients
  • Preparing theatre and relevant equipment
  • Cleaning and preparing accommodation for animals
  • Restraining animals for treatment
  • Record keeping
  • Providing care before and after surgery

Skills

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you are expected to have:

  • Basic Maths and English skills
  • Caring manner 
  • Good at communicating with the practice and customers
  • IT literate
  • Good problem solver
  • Good team player
  • Positive attitude at all times
