As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you’ll need to:

  • Exercising, grooming and feeding hospitalised animals (inpatients)
  • Weighing, taking animals temperatures 
  • Monitoring and providing supportive care to inpatients
  • Preparing theatre and relevant equipment
  • Cleaning and preparing accommodation for animals
  • Restraining animals for treatment
  • Record keeping
  • Providing care before and after surgery


As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you are expected to have:

  • Basic Maths and English skills
  • Caring manner 
  • Good at communicating with the practice and customers
  • IT literate
  • Good problem solver
  • Good team player
  • Positive attitude at all times


  • We have a thorough 15 point recruitment process which covers every aspect of your  requirements.
  • We work with most of the large vet groups and many independent practices so have access to a huge number of roles. With your authorisation we can also market your CV (confidentially) to specific practices as many roles aren’t advertised. If that dream role exists  we will find it. There is no need to send your CV anywhere else again!
  • We are 100% transparent throughout the whole recruitment process and will not send your CV to a practice without authorisation from you. Guaranteed!
  • Career development. We can develop a career plan for you  and review this every few months to make sure you are on track. 
  • We employ an in house career advisor to help with any career advice.
  • We offer psychometric profiling for all candidates if required.  You learn a lot about yourself and it recommends areas for personal growth and development.
  • Every successful candidate we register we donate £10 to one of our 4 charities.
  • When we place a candidate  a percentage of that fee will go to one of 4 charities we have chosen to work with.   You will choose where this money goes and receive regular updates.
