At Vetfinders we are helping a practice in Co. Tyrone find their next hires. They have a new opportunity for an experienced LA Vet to join their growing farm team at this friendly, supportive, mixed practice in Northern Ireland

Role

  • You will be working in a large supportive team with an understanding and accommodating rota.
  • A typical day is 9am to 5.30pm
  • The weekly rota would include, one weeknight on call, either first or second
  • 1:4 weekend first or second with a set half day off in week after weekend on call

This practice provides excellence in all areas of care. As a training practise, they require an understanding, enthusiastic and patient team player. You must be confident and capable of carrying out surgical and medical procedures.

They strive for the best patient and animal care with a huge amount of knowledge in their broad-based team including Farm, Equine, SA, Poultry and Pig vets. In addition to a varied medical and surgical caseload, there will be ample opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their clinical interests in areas such dairy fertility, herd and flock health planning and advanced breeding.

This wouldn’t suit a new graduate, as 2-3 years’ experience is required. New grads have access to the new graduate program and can shadow a more senior vet for as long as needed. Certificate study encouraged when appropriate to start. Salaries easily in line with SPVS survey results.

The Practice

The main practice surgeries are purpose built and designed buildings allowing us to provide the most optimal environment for examining, treating and nursing.

They have an opening in their farm team, they are a large and friendly team with a young bias, Covid permitting we enjoy CPD events together with team building activities, barbeques, festive dinners and nights out! Anyone requiring a mentor/clinical coach (vet GDP) will have one named for them

Based in the bustling of Cookstown which is located in the heart of Northern Ireland. It is the perfect place to sample food, drink and traditional Irish hospitality. Being centrally located means that Cookstown is accessible from all parts of Northern Ireland, it being just 48 miles from Belfast. It has all the amenities and facilities you would expect, and yet it is still within easy reach of some stunning natural scenery. The dramatic Sperrin Mountains loom over the town, whilst the Drum Manor Forest Parkland and the spectacular waters of Lough Neagh are just a short drive away.
