At Vetfinders we are helping a practice in Co. Antrim find their next hire.
They have a new opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced Vet to join their team at this Independent, 50% small & 50% large animal practice
Role
- Competitive salary with a performance related bonus
- 1:6 out of hours, on call rota
- 6 weeks Annual holiday
The normal working day is 9am-5pm, but with an evening clinic shared on a rota basis with the last appointment at 5.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6pm on a Friday and 6.30pm on a Monday.
The out of hours rota is 1 in 6, with quiet nights on the whole. If desired, the on call could be on a set night of the week, allowing a more favourable work life balance. There would be constant back up day or night.
You get a half day on the Friday giving you a long weekend off after your weekend on call and through the week you have 2 hours off before your night on and a late start the morning after.
The practice aspires to create an environment that offers clinical excellence combined with first rate patient care.
This could suit a very competent 1st year graduate, but as a min of 2 to 5 years’ experience is preferred.
Interest in Vet & Nurse training would be ideal but not necessary.

The Practice
Gleno and Farmhill Veterinary Centres are a long established independent, mixed, 4 branch practice. 50% large animal (sheep, dairy, beef and horses), 50% small animal. Farmhill branch currently undergoing refurbishment to upgrade to RCVS hospital standard. The job would be based mainly in 1 centre
Clinical freedom with excellent support through our mentoring programme in a friendly, happy working environment. We offer a new graduate programme with structured CPD over the first 2 years for newly qualified vets.
Supportive 7 vet practice in a beautiful coastal area of Co. Antrim. We are well equipped, with competent and helpful support staff and are a VN training centre
We’re located a short distance from Belfast and the Antrim coast so there are a wide variety of leisure activities available with beautiful countryside on the doorstep. We are very convenient to 2 airports and 2 ferry ports.
If desired, within our team, there is the opportunity to develop an interest in small animal or large animal work or to carry out an equal mix of both.
