The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience, although this is not mandatory. A strong sense of team work is essential, as well as excellent communication skills.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis at 40 hours per week, with a flexible, usually 4 week-days, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 9-1 and a share of OOH (just for inpatient cover). Shifts vary on a rota pattern which overlap to cover the opening hours, 8-5, 9-5, 9-6, 10-7(on call). Shifts can be swapped amongst vets to suit outside commitments. Don’t rule this practice out if you don’t want a full-time role – as they are very open to flexible working and would consider creating a shift pattern to work around outside interests. ?

This role is supported by a wonderful team of RVNs, utilised in their full capacity- the team work extremely hard, and are very experienced, capable and generally excellent.

This practice is looking for someone to join the team who loves being a vet, and who wants to do their best for their patients and clients, who can deliver excellent customer and animal care, whilst doing the job they love.

About the practice:

Independently owned and run, for the last 100 years, this practice is respected and established in the area. Currently owned by two vet-mums who want happy staff to enable great patient care .

The practice is fast paced, forward thinking, and focuses on development, boasts good facilities and a great team environment.

Some of the vets have their own specific interests, and the practice boasts certificate holders in surgery, feline medicine and ECC, one who has completed her masters in behaviour and has others undertaking their exotics and cardiology certificates. The team regularly share knowledge with daily inpatient rounds, regular vet meetings and in house CPD.

To this practice, continuity is important for all vets, clients and patients. They understand the importance of a good work life balance, and knowing that staff wellbeing and having time at home to switch off from work is essential. So, they aim to strike a balance – they use Vets Now for OOH cover for any new emergencies, whilst keeping all inpatients on site. It is the nurses that stay on site overnight, and take the phones and will contact the on-call vet as necessary, which in reality means it is unusual to get called in. The vets share a 1 in 9 rota for this. It will be 1 in 10 when you, the new Vet joins. ?

The location of the practice is in beautiful, Lincoln, a city steeped in culture and history, and a wonderful place to call home.

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified

  • Possess the right to work in the UK

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Be a team player
