Hours: 12-month Contract, leading to permanent. 4-day week, 1:4 Saturdays, 08:30-15:00, with no OOHs

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience, £35-50k per annum, open dependent on experience and skill level

They are actively recruiting for a Small Animal Veterinary surgeon to join their growing, supportive team with immediate effect. This is a maternity cover, for initially 12 months, with the possibility of going permanent thereafter.

The Role:

This is a 12-month maternity cover post starting in April 2022. You will be working a 4-day week, 1:4 Saturdays, 8.30am – 3.00pm, with no OOH duties. A 3-day week will also be considered with participation in the weekend rota.

 

We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon committed to providing high standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience, this is not essential, but preferred and will encompass the values, of motivation and ambition, also excellent communication skills and strive to always be their best.

 

Work life balance is important to this practice, and as such the hours, you want to work is negotiable, ideally, they require someone who can work 35 hours per week however, they would be happy to receive applications from part time applications also.

 

There is a good split between consults and surgery, therefore we are looking for a surgeon that is comfortable and able to do both.

About the practice:

This practice is a proud, independent small animal, first opinion, practice, with lovely clients who wish to provide their pets with the best possible care. Well-respected and successfully established within the local area region. 

 

As a successful applicant, you will join the team of four vets, including certificate holders in anaesthesia, behaviour, surgery and medicine, three qualified nurses, three student nurses, two receptionists and a practice manager.

The practice is looking for a team player, who is hard working, and will work together with the team to deliver outstanding care to patients and clients, with a personal, honest and sympathetic approach.

 

The practice has full operating, hospitalisation and diagnostic facilities including a dedicated theatre, large prep room, separate dog/cat wards, digital radiography, MPM, doppler ultrasonography, endoscopy, and an excellent in-house lab for blood work and microscopy. With visiting specialists in orthopaedics, ultrasonography, cardiology and soft tissue surgery and also RCVS accreditation.

 

The location of the practice is nestled in The Shropshire Hills and provide a beautiful backdrop as well as wonderful opportunities for outdoor activities, including hiking, climbing and gliding. The Welsh coast can be visited in day or if you want to head to the city Birmingham and Manchester are not far away, with good commuter links. The practice is very flexible, they understand the importance of a work life balance, therefore all applications welcomed.
