Our client is one of the UK’s leading rehoming organisations for animals. They support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through their rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.
The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Night Veterinary Nurse to join the fabulous team at the hospital. The role is varied and busy and as part of a team you will be expected to undertake all aspects of veterinary nursing. As part of the emergency night service team, you will be responsible for inpatient care, surgical procedures & triaging patients. Another important aspect of the role is having good communication skills with the wider team and clients.
This role is on a fixed term contract for 12 months working 42 hours per week, there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to work the occasional day shift.
They pride themselves on their no blame culture and run monthly reflective rounds to help process difficult events and promote mental well-being. They also hold regular informal catch ups between line reports and their managers, it’s not about how you’re performing, it’s about how you are.
What is required?
They are looking for people with the following:
• Significant experience of emergency service and critical care nursing
• Fully qualified Veterinary Nurse
• Registered with RCVS
• Experience in all nursing duties
• Experience of working nights in a veterinary practice
It would also be great if you had:
• Radiography
• Use of computerised vet records
• Triage
• Critical care nursing
• Surgical and medical nursing
• Emergency and critical care nursing certificate
