VetFinders are proud to be the recruitment partner to a passionate, well-established practice, totally independent, and family run in the Lancashire town of Wigan.

They have a new opportunity for a motivated, experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

We are looking for someone with passion for all aspects of Nursing, and someone who will ensure the high standards of outstanding care to both patients and clients is upheld.

This wonderful practice is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated RVN to join the team in delivering the highest quality, 5* care to their clients and patients.

The role will offer a varied case load, state of the art diagnostic equipment and certificate holding surgeons. With no two days being the same, the surgical team deal with cases ranging from routine neuters to advanced neuro surgery and orthopaedics.

They are a Tier 3 hospital, first opinion practice, referral centre and training practice. In their words their biggest asset is their team, they have a large range of services and equipment to offer clients which allows them to offer a RCVS awarded “outstanding” level of customer service and care. A varied caseload and opportunity to grow with the company ensures that no two working days are the same.

Candidates must have excellent time management and communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure. This role would be best suited for someone who has a keen interest in all aspects of nursing, ranging from inpatient care, anaesthesia and nurse consults to advanced imaging, surgery and post-operative care.

The role requires the ability to work 38.6 hours per week, with 1 in 9 Saturdays. The OOH service is currently managed by Vets Now so you will not be expected to work outside of opening hours, but the ability to work OOH shifts and increase salary is an option.

Ideal candidates will have some experience (1-3 years minimum) working in general practice, but all applications will be considered.

  • Bike to work scheme
  • Company pension scheme
  • Generous employee discount 40%

The Practice

This independent was established in 1967, very much a family venture, this husband-and-wife team opened up their first practice. Building a team of dedicated veterinary professionals, highly qualified, friendly, and successful team members, which has allowed them to grow the business but also become very well established and respected within the heart of Wigan. Their son joining the family business and driving the success further over more recent years.

In 2016, they were lucky enough to be established as a referral centre; with in house MRI and CT scanning facilities, in which vets all over the North West can refer to them. They are also an RCVS accredited training practice and maintain tier 3 hospital status.
