Mixed Veterinary Surgeon
Role: Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon (with some equine)
Location: Broughton in Furness, Cumbria
Hours: Permanent, Full time, 4 or 4.5 days per week depending on workload/holidays etc, 1 in 3 weekends rota, on call rota shared equally between 6 with a first and second on call
Salary: VERY Competitive, dependent on experience, £32-50k per annum.

The Role:
This is a full time Veterinary Surgeon position, including a 1 in 3 weekend rota . The practice is able to offer a flexible rota for applicants that are looking for a good work life balance.
Ideally candidates will have a minimum of two years’ experience but all qualified applications will be considered, as new graduates would be supported well.
This role is a varied role with a good split between small animal, large animal and some equine work included. You will be both experienced in both surgical and medical cases, consults and surgery evenly split. The farms are family run and include both dairy and beef farms as well as sheep, with a few pigs, goats and alpacas
Clinical freedom is given to deal with cases but there is always support with the opportunity to discuss things with a colleague. The team is very supportive and experienced, you will be working alongside the practice owners.
Must haves:
- RCVS registered and qualified
- Possess the right to work in the UK
- Excellent communication skills and be a team player
- Driving licence required for patient visits and on call
- Set personal high standards in patient care and customer services
- The ability to want to grow and develop, personal development

Based in Broughton-in-Furness, Cumbria, this practice stands within the lake district and all its beauty. Ideally situated for hiking, fell walking the coastal areas in the region.
This practice is a proud, independent, mixed, first opinion, practice, (one of the few independent practices in the locality). Well-respected and successfully established within the local area region. Currently run by two working owners, one due to semi-retire therefore the reason for the vacancy.
The practice is looking for a team player, who is hard working, and will work together with the team to deliver outstanding care to patients and clients, with a personal, honest and sympathetic approach. The current team includes 6 VETS and a supportive reception team.
The practice is well equipped with modern toys, including; Digital x ray, ultrasound scanners, in house blood analyser.
