Here at Vetfinders we are helping Forest House Vets grow and find their next hire. A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join this small animal practice in Berkshire.

Role

  • Full Time – 4.5 days pw
  • Start 8.30am unless on ops, then 8am.
  • Finish depends on rota, between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on standard days
  • No overnight on-call, once a week on-call until 9pm (1pm start on these days)
  • One half day off each week if not following a weekend – 1pm finish
  • Shared weekend rota,1 weekend in 5 – consults on Sat and Sun morning and on-call until 5pm
  • Monday and Friday off following duty weekend
  • No Sole charge
  • Driving Licence required

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated first opinion vet to join the team in delivering the highest quality of care to our clients and patients. The ideal candidate will be confident consulting, performing first opinion surgical procedures, performing diagnostic investigations, dentistry, work ups and providing dedicated inpatient care.

This is a busy practice so you will need to be able to hit the ground running. You will be working across all three branches, but will be mainly based in the Windsor practice.

The practice is purpose built with modern equipment to assist you. They have a progressive team, open to new ideas and take pride in offering a high standard of care to their clients and patients.

 All levels will be considered from new graduates to experienced Vets.

Role

  • Full Time
  • 1 Saturday or Sunday every 3 weeks
  • 1 night duty per week caring for inpatients only
  • OOH calls are diverted after 9pm

Nurses are required to work at weekends and night duties as per the rota.

The practice is purpose built with modern equipment to assist you. They have a progressive team, open to new ideas and take pride in offering a high standard of care to their clients and patients.

You will be responsible in undertaking nursing duties including theatre, kennels, dispense and recovery. Administer treatments as per the rules set by the Royal College and under the supervision of the veterinary surgeon (e.g., injections, medication, fluid therapy, dressing, first aid). Assist veterinary surgeon with euthanasia and other minor clinical procedures. Undertake general cleaning duties throughout the hospital including equipment, animal quarters and premises. Dispense drugs in accordance with professional guidelines and hospital rules. Monitor and restock consulting rooms and dispense area as required. Process, record and file laboratory results. Cover evening, night and weekend nurse duties as per the rota provided. Carry out hospital admissions and discharges with clients. Complete allocated extra duties as required. Undertake continuing professional and personal development associated with the role. Ensure comprehensive records of admissions, care, treatments and outcomes are maintained. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public. Perform reception duties in and efficient, professional and courteous manner when required. Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety. Other occasional jobs at the discretion of the practice manager or head nurse

This is a very busy practice so you will need to be able to hit the ground running.

This role would suit a newly qualified to an experienced RVN. Nurses are fully supported out of hours by a 2nd on-call nurse
