Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

  • Location: Brierley Hill - West Midlands, West Midlands
  • Type: Permanent
  • Job #770

Veterinary Surgeon – Outer Birmingham – £40k – 65k per annum, DOE.
Something isn’t right, you love your job as a vet but feel overworked, disillusioned, and stuck in a never-ending routine.
Craving flexibility, clinical freedom, more time with patients?
Want to get back that energy, passion, drive, and what you love most about being a vet?
No one likes to change jobs, but sometimes you have to look in a different direction to achieve what you need professionally.
A first opinion small animal independent practice, run like an independent not like a chain where a  kind, emphatic person is more important to them than experience.
There’s an atmosphere of “getting it”. Everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. A strong team who want their best for patient and practice. There’s not much “management” because everyone’s on the same page.
Maybe you need to work one day per week or four – this independent practice understands that work has to fit within your life commitments, therefore part-time or full-time hours are available, plus some weekend mornings if flexible.
Demand has led to this vacancy, a loyal customer base, fantastic reviews, and with all the bad press about vet bills they are known for affordability.
You’ll develop as a vet here and gain experience by working on your own cases. See things through. There’s help if you need it with experience in the team, the vet is a certificate holder in dermatology and a professor at the local Open University who really enjoys teaching and mentoring.
The team is made up of one Vet, two SVNs, one VCA, 2.5 receptionists, and a PM.
Plenty of toys here and  top of the range equipment. Based on the outskirts of Birmingham, plenty of shops,  coffee shops, the Merry Hill shopping centre is just around the corner, close to public transport and they have their own parking.  Within a short drive, you are in the country boasting walks and picturesque rivers.

Salary and perks, £40k – £65k DOE, pension,  VDS, and RCVS paid plus excellent CPD budget, 28 days hol plus BH’s.
A new graduate or a seasoned SA Vet we want to hear from you, most importantly you want to develop, you want to be part of a team working together towards a shared goal. You want to use the skills you have and develop the ones you are less experienced in; you want to progress.
So, what’s next?
Well, we can’t get the whole story in a job ad so send your CV – don’t worry if it’s not up to date to, along with any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.
Be a better relaxed vet, you, and the animals, deserve it.
