They have a new opportunity for a proactive, and enthusiastic Equine Vet to join their team at this thriving, progressive, well-equipped Independent mixed practice

Role

  • 4.5 days week (8:30am to 6:00pm) with a set half day off in the week plus 1:8 long weekend off.
  • 1:4 weekend on-call rota with the following Friday off.
  • OOH calls triaged by onsite RVN
  • Scope to work your own cases up with support when needed
  • Potential to develop your own professional interests and work in your own style

The equine role is predominantly ambulatory offering a high quality of care to a varied and lovely client base including stud work, rare breeds, sports and leisure horses. Our dedicated equine office manager helps to organise calls, alongside experienced RVNs to offer support and assistance for diagnostic work-ups on the road, meaning your day runs as efficiently as possible.

Facilities include: portable video 3.3m gastroscope, 1.5m video endoscope, recently upgraded ultrasound, wireless DR-x-ray with Battray, in-house lab, Dearson motorised dental equipment.

This could suit a very competent 1st year graduate; you will have mentoring available (including a dedicated VetGDP Advisor if appropriate) to enable you to grow and develop in their career. A min of 2 years’ experience is preferred, but not essential.

The Practice

We are a large multi-site practice established since 1973. We have a busy caseload and have an experienced veterinary team with a wide range of clinical interests. We are looking for someone to join our friendly experienced equine team of four vets who have a range of interests, including an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Internal Medicine. Our team are all very supportive and as a practice we encourage discussion groups and training to help all staff members develop in their chosen areas of expertise.

Our aim is to provide a professional, caring, veterinary service to our clients and their animals. Our vets are friendly and highly experienced. We have an excellent support team of nurses and receptionists who are dedicated and committed to providing a highest standard of care to our clients and their animals.

Ryder-Davies & Partners provide care for small animals, equine and small holders. Our veterinary nurses also offer a range of nurse clinics including puppy parties, weight loss clinics and dental checks. Our diagnostic and treatment facilities include a laboratory, dental facilities,
X-Ray, ultrasound, ECG and operating theatre. We are proud to provide our own 24-hour emergency service.

The well-equipped independent practice in the Coastal Suffolk area, offers beautiful countryside and coastline to explore in your down time, with good transport links to London and the Midlands.
