Our client is now recruiting a Deputy Nurse Manager on a permanent basis to join the team. They are a charity, who pride themselves on delivering excellent patient and client care. The successful candidate needs to have strong nursing skills and be able to hit the ground running. They’re not about micromanagement, it’s not fun for anyone, so you will need to work under your own initiative to get the job done. Of course, your manager will be there to support you when needed and we will ensure that you receive opportunities to develop and train.
The role of a Deputy Nurse Manager is varied and busy – so being bored is not an option! As well as undertaking all aspects of Veterinary nursing, another important part of the role will be assisting the Nurse Manager with supporting your line reports, leading and communicating to the team so confidence in this area is vital.
Our client prides themselves on the no blame culture and run monthly reflective rounds to help process difficult events and promote mental well-being. They also hold regular informal catch ups between line reports and their managers, it’s not about how you’re performing, it’s about how you are.
What is required?
They are looking for people with the following:
• Registered veterinary nurse
• Considerable experience in veterinary practice as a veterinary nurse
• Competent in all aspects of veterinary nursing with experience of teaching others
• Experience of computerised veterinary record systems, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook
• Training in communication and client relations
It would also be great if you had:
• Advanced diploma in veterinary nursing
• Clinical coach
• Experience of performance management and supervising other
• Experience of supporting student nurses through acting as clinical coach, NVQ assessor etc
