You would be joining a team of 3 full-time vets, 2 part-time vets, and 9 vet nurses. One of the few independent clinics left, they are happy to create a role for you with part-time and full-time on offer. Build a role around your lifestyle.
This isn’t a  practice that cuts  corners they have a team of experienced vets and nurses working in a relaxed, friendly environment together, doing what is right for the patient and practice
You can expect a varied caseload with a good mix of consults and surgery, owning your cases, and seeing them through. No production line consults here 15 minutes are standard.
They don’t believe in working their team into the ground, they want you rested and refreshed so you can be at your best. 
So, it is 7.5 hours a day, an hour for lunch with time blocked off in your diary for your own hospital patients and phone calls/procedures.
This position includes rostered weekend (1in4 to 1in5) and on-call work. After-hours services are shared between ourselves and two other local clinics.
They recognise part of coming to NZ is to travel and see NZ, Australia, and the South Pacific so they will endeavour to be flexible and accommodating with time off. How many practices can say this?

With 3 consulting rooms, a prep room, an operating room, ward rooms, a laboratory with catalyst, lasercyte, and microscope, isolation facilities, a radiography room with digital X-ray and dental X-rays, and outdoor space for the exercise of patients and staff relaxation. 
Consulting times are set between 15 and 30 minutes with vets being allowed the discretion when extra time is required for good clinical care. Surgery and consulting are divided equally throughout the week. Clinical freedom is supported.
Being a recent or new grad, we know support is the first thing you are looking for, this practice understands this. As such, both lead veterinary surgeons are GPD advisors. Not only that but the practice is a tier 2 RCVS accredited practice and was recently inspected in October 2023 with complimentary feedback on their level of care, staff wellbeing, family feel, and facilities.
Two graduates have completed their Vet GDP with the practice since 2020, allowing them to develop at the individual’s pace, a pace they were comfortable with. You will feel support and mentoring in abundance here, tailored to you and your development needs. Recent achievements also include becoming an approved VN training practice. Next is the aim to become a Cat-Friendly Clinic moving forward to focus on developing the teams’ strengths. 
When it comes to hours, the working week is over 4 days, 9 am to 7 pm. Saturdays are on a rota basis currently 1 in 3, working 9 am to 4 pm, with Monday off the following week in lieu. Nurses are on-site out of hours .
With both practices close to the Dartmoor National Park they can boast excellent shopping and restaurants locally, boating and water sports at the local reservoir, walking, climbing, outdoor pursuits in the hills of Dartmoor plus the beautiful beaches of Devon and Cornwall are only a short drive.  If you want to really let your hair down the city of Plymouth is only eight miles away.
Salary and perks: Up to £65k DOE.  RCVS and VDS paid. CPD as you require it. Happy to fund certificates and full access to the Webinar Vet.  8% of salary paid into a  pension and 28 days holiday.
