Registered Veterinary Nurse

Our client is an independent small animal practice based in London, who are looking to and hire an RVN to join their friendly and welcoming team.

They are now seeking a confident, hardworking and passionate RVN to come and join the friendly and supportive team.

They have a range of high-quality equipment including; Digital Xray, ultrasound, on site lab, multiparameter monitor, isolation unit and separate cat & dog wards.

Their services include; Internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, dermatology, orthopaedics and diagnostic imaging.

They are also an RCVS accredited training practice and the ideal candidate would be a clinical coach or working towards becoming one.

The Role

The rota is based on 37 ½ hour week, with no on call or overnight duties.

Earliest start 8am and latest finish 8pm. 1:4 weekends, with one week based at our Brentford surgery for morning consultations.

Duties are based on a rota system consisting of both medical and surgical patients, pre and post op, assisting vets in both prep and theatre, stock control, pharmacy and lab work.

Package

CPD is encouraged and funded up to £500 per year.

The Role:

There are consults throughout the week, Monday – Friday with some weekend cover in times of absence.

 

The rota is 5 days a week, with either 8.30am or 9.30am start to either a 5.30pm or 6.30pm finish. There is standby on-call vet support, 2 nights pw with an on-call suite provided. No weekends.

 

There is lots of support in order to deliver clinical care in line with professional standards and clinical guidelines

 

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2+ years’ experience, this is not essential, but preferred.

The Role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly, highly qualified and exceptionally accommodating team at their purpose built, fully equipped hospital, in Grimsby.

Duties include:

• Dispensing medication as instructed by the veterinary surgeon
• Provision of nurse clinics to include vaccination clinics and education of the general public with regard to pet welfare
• Monitoring and administering treatments to patients in kennels and maintaining records.
• Radiography
• Maintaining anaesthesia and surgically assisting the veterinary surgeon in theatre
• Preparing samples in the laboratory for postage and performing some routine laboratory tests
• Assisting the receptionist as required with booking appointments, record keeping, receipt of donations etc.
• Providing excellent customer service to our customers

Out of hours work is shared on a rota. Working hours include a paid lunch hour and additional breaks.

You will have good communication and organisational skills and an ability to stay calm under pressure. A caring and enthusiastic attitude is required together with the ability to work on your own as well as part of a team.
