The role will include theatre duties, assisting with procedures, nurse consults, dispensary, and some administration and reception duties. Our client is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic vet to join their 4 vet small animal practice, performing general first opinion practice. They perform some advanced surgery including orthopaedics. They are located in an affluent town where clients expect thorough treatment & investigations resulting in an interesting case load. The practice has Xrays, ultrasound & an in house lab. You will need to be an MRCVS registered veterinary surgeon, preferably with at least 2 years’ experience in general first opinion practice. The successful applicant should be confident with consultations & routine surgeries. A registered clinical coach for their trainee vet nurses would be an asset.

 

Rota details: 5 day week. Every other Saturday 8am-12pm. Half day in week when on Saturday.

No OOHs except occasional late evening checks of in-patients.

Veterinary Surgeon

Role: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Clacton on Sea, Essex

Hours: Permanent, 45 hours a week

VetFinders are recruiting for our client in the beautiful seaside town of Clacton. They are in the need of x2 experienced Veterinary Surgeons. Ideally a start would be in October and the other in November/December time but would consider an early new year start.  

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-respected and experienced team of specialists in the area.

The Role:

There are consults throughout the day. Operations are done Monday – Friday and generally every vet is in theatre once or twice a week all day. Prescription medications is provided.

The rota is 5 days a week – 9am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. 9am to 5pm, Saturdays (1 in 2). If you work a Saturday, then a day off in the week is given. 

One weekend every 8-9 weeks if there are inpatients, again two days off in the week if you worked that weekend. Sundays are only to see to inpatients usually you come in 2 or 3 times in the day depending on the pet’s needs. We only do inpatient checks of an evening in the week and this generally works out once every week and half.

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience, this is not essential, but preferred.

This role is not suitable for new grads unfortunately.

They operate Monday – Friday and can provide emergency operations on a Saturday if needed. The practice also comes equipped with an x-ray and ultrasound machine. The nursing team is extremely efficient and can provide nursing clinics.
