Moorview Rescue

Set up in 2009 as a registered charity  Moorview  has re-homed nearly 2000 dogs in the UK. The dogs are rescued from a variety of places.  Most Moorview dogs have come from the pound which is where lost and abandoned dogs end up. These dogs would have been put to sleep within 7 days, if not claimed by Moorview. They are cared for, treated for their many problems until homes have been found with new, suitable  matched owners.

Moorview have been involved in assisting with RSPCA neglect cases. Moorview Rescue operates with 2 paid employees and the rest is run by loyal volunteers. All dogs are neutered, vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and micro chipped before leaving the rescue.

VetFinders have chosen to work with Joanne and Darren Brydon at Moorview for the sheer dedication they have to the welfare of dogs and their ambitions to keep growing and helping these animals. Please see below their most recent intake Darcy who we are sponsoring through her rehabilitation. You will see her transformation photos soon when she is better to be re-homed.

Darcy

"We have a new girl called Darcy. She is a German Short haired Pointer. She was founds as a  stray, underweight and used for breeding. Darcy had no microchip, collar, or identification. We don't  know any history on her or her age etc. She was so undernourished  you could she her ribs and was very dirty and smelly. She has enlarged teats from the puppies we suspect she has been used for!"

This donation was possible after we placed Katy at a Vet Practice in Surrey.  Thank you Katy!  We will keep you updated on Darcy’s progress.
Thank you to everybody at VetFinders this will see Darcy through her whole rehabilitation process.  We look forward to you seeing the end result.

Nuzzlets York

Nuzzlets is a small Charity, based near Great Ouseburn, York. Nuzzlets specialises in giving loving homes to unwanted animals and gives young people free access to these animals for therapy and education. Nuzzlets specialise in visits for children with disabilities, special needs and life-threatening illnesses. They also help adults with mental health issues.

Children can visit the farm with their families or in groups. Nuzzlets also visits a local Children’s Hospice, special needs schools, nursing homes and inner-city nurseries. They teach children about animal welfare through presentations and work placements.

They have gained DEFRA accreditation and been awarded a certificate through the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme. They have won Government Approval as a “countryside classroom”. They have now also been accredited as a care farm.

We decided to work with Mary Chapman at Nuzzlets as we wanted a charity that helped animals and children as well.  Nuzzlets does exactly this with the Animal Therapy it provides for children with special needs and life-threatening illnesses.

This donation was possible after placing Joanne at a Vet Practive in North Yorkshire.  Thanks Jo hope you like the pictures and good luck in your new role.

'Thank you Chris for the donation which has gone to buying two large bunnies for our children’s Easter display and the dog agility apparatus for the goats that they absolutely love!'

Hope Pastures rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses, ponies and donkeys. They also provide the opportunity for people to meet the animals and learn about them and how to look after them. Hope Pastures uses your donations to prevent suffering and to improve lives.  Having opened our doors in 1974 we have helped countless horses and donkeys.

VetFinders have decided to partner with Hope Pastures after our successful visit. Their dedication, compassion and energy for these animals is truly inspiring.

Find out more about Blue Cross

Blue Cross

Blue Cross is a registered charity that has been helping sick, injured, abandoned and homeless pets since 1897. Pets help us in so many ways and they depend entirely on us. The charity provides support for pet owners who cannot afford private veterinary treatment, helps to find homes for unwanted animals, and educates the public in the responsibilities of animal ownership.

They help thousands of pets in need every month, providing veterinary care, expert behaviour help and find them loving happy homes, as well as advice and education for current or future pet owners and pet bereavement support. They develop lifelong relationships with pets and owners, providing quality care that is accessible and non-judgemental.

Their vision is that every pet will enjoy a healthy life in a happy home and they won’t rest until they achieve it.

Blue Cross care for around 40,000 pets every year but they know it’s not enough – there are many, many more out there that still desperately need their help.

Blue Cross is a nominated VetFinders charity.  How can we not work with such a dedicated team who work tirelessly to ensure every pet enjoys a healthy life and a happy home?!  Please see our website and social media channels for regular updates about how we will be helping Blue Cross.
